Friday Round Up 19/5/17
Dear Parents,
Sports Day
Just to confirm that Sports Day, weather permitting, will take place on Friday June 9th with the reserve day being Friday 16th June. Apologies for the typo on the website. As the school has grown in size so has the length of the Sports Day with the children now being expected to sit and watch the races for well over two hours, which is too long. So this year we are trialling a new format with an infant sports day in the morning, lunch on the field as normal and a junior sports day in the afternoon. Further details, including the timings will be sent to you next week. Many thanks for your understanding in this matter.
Newsletter
We are in the process of collating our annual Newsletter which is distributed to all families in the school and to the local community. If you would be interested in placing an advertisement in this year’s copy the price is £250 for a quarter page and £500 for a half page. Please contact Mrs Sarah Hopkins for further details. s.hopkins@st-johns-buckhursthill.essex.sch.uk

Arts Weeks
Today marks the end of SATs which means that next week is Arts Week!
Arts Week is an annual event where the normal school curriculum is suspended and the children take part in a variety of workshops. The final assembly brings together the results of each workshop and parents are warmly invited to attend. Please could you provide your child with an Art Shirt for the week marked with their name.
The final assembly will be at 10am on Thursday 25th May, earlier in the day, due to the church being used for a funeral. I look forward to seeing you there.
