Netball - Essex County Final 28th June 2018

Having won the netball league unbeaten the girls travelled to Basildon Sporting Village to represent West Essex in the Essex County Final High Five Netball.  However, it is fair to say that today was not our day!   The girls took to the courts with enthusiasm and eagerness.  Having not played high five netball before they were a little unsure how it would pan out, but they were keen to show off their skills. However, missed shots, stray passes and dropped balls meant that they quickly went down two goals in the first match and were unable to recover the deficit.  Swapping court positions took its toll with some girls playing in positions they were unfamiliar with and the second match ended with a loss too.  Not to be put off they kept trying and were able to finish the morning with two draws.  In the afternoon they faired better and were able to win three matches, finishing the day in 10th position out of 14.
