Year 2 World Book Day 2019

World book day was held yesterday at St John’s and everybody enjoyed the day. The outfits that the children choose were quite varied we had the traditional characters such as Mary Poppins to contemporary characters like Alex Rider. There were some old favourites in the mix, The Tiger who Came to Tea and Harry Potter but a book day couldn’t quite be complete without an appearance from Where’s Wally! The year 2 team dressed as crayons, characters from the book The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywait and Oliver Jeffers. Throughout the day the children were immersed in book activities, which ranged from designing front covers, reading with year 6 and writing a letter of apology to the crayons on behalf of Duncan who they belonged to. Ask your children! We all enjoyed the day, so lovely to read and listen to our favourite stories.
