Year 3 Tag Rugby 23rd September

On Friday 23^rd September 30 Year 3 pupils took part in a tag rugby festival at Epping Upland Rugby club. It was, for many of these children their first opportunity to take part in competitive matches. The morning was spent learning the skills necessary for playing  the games and in the afternoon our pupils were divided into three teams and we were impressed with all of their progress over the day and their ability to show great team spirit and determination against mainly year 4 children.  We were delighted that one of the teams managed to make it through to the semi- finals.  They should all feel very proud of their achievement and we look forward to seeing many of them in the teams in Years 5 and 6.

 It was great to see a former St John’s pupil, Holly Hembury, who is now at Davenant, coaching the children and refereeing later on in the day.
